Voter Information
Elections allow residents of the Township of Blandford-Blenheim to choose their local representatives and have a direct say in municipal government. The information below explains who can vote, how to register, and what to expect when voting.
Who Can Vote
You are eligible to vote in the municipal election if you meet all of the following requirements:
-
You are at least 18 years old on voting day.
-
You are a Canadian citizen.
-
You are a resident of Blandford-Blenheim, or you own or rent property in the Township, or you are the spouse of someone who does.
Eligible electors vote for Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillors, and School Board Trustees.
Registering to Vote
You must be on the Voters’ List to vote in the municipal election.
You can confirm, update, or add your information through Ontario’s official voter registration system at RegisterToVoteON.ca.
Identification and Voter Verification
Because the Township will be conducting the election by internet and telephone voting, there will be no in-person polling locations (though in-person assistance will be available).
Instead, eligible electors will receive a voter information letter containing a secure Personal Identification Number and instructions on how to vote online or by phone. This letter will be mailed to the address where you are registered to vote.
It is therefore important that your name and qualifying address are accurate on the Voters’ List. You can confirm or update your information through RegisterToVoteON.ca before voting begins.
If you do not receive your voter information letter, or believe there is an error, you will be able to contact the Township to have your information verified and corrected. Further details will be provided closer to the election.
Voting Dates and Locations
Information about advance voting, election day voting, and in-person voting assistance locations will be posted on this site once finalized.
