Register & Vote

Voting in the 2026 Municipal Election is easy, secure, and convenient. Eligible voters in the Township of Blandford-Blenheim will be able to vote online or by telephone during the voting period.

Step 1: Make Sure You’re Eligible to Vote

You are eligible to vote in the 2026 Municipal Election if you are:

  • A Canadian citizen

  • 18 years of age or older

  • A resident of the Township of Blandford-Blenheim, or

  • A non-resident property owner or tenant, or the spouse of one

You may only vote once, regardless of how many properties you own.

Step 2: Confirm or Update Your Voter Information

Before voting opens, eligible voters should ensure their information is correct on the Voters’ List.

You can register or update your information online through the Province of Ontario:

Using the provincial voter registration system helps ensure:

  • Your name and address are correct

  • You receive your Voter Information Letter on time

  • You are ready to vote when the election opens

Step 3: Receive Your Voting Information

Eligible voters will receive a Voter Information Letter (VIL) by mail.

This letter will include:

  • Your unique voting credentials

  • Instructions on how to vote online or by telephone

  • Key election dates and support information

⚠️ Keep your Voter Information Letter secure. Your credentials are required to vote.

Step 4: Cast Your Vote

During the voting period, you can vote:

  • Online using any internet-connected device

  • By telephone using a touch-tone phone

Voting is available 24 hours a day throughout the voting period.

Once your vote is submitted, it is final and cannot be changed.

Voting by internet and telephone is designed to be accessible for all voters.

Important Dates

Voters’ List – Update & Revision Period

  • Voters’ List available / revision period begins: September 1, 2026

  • Deadline to update voter information: Election Day – October 26, 2026
    (Voters may add or correct their information up to and including Voting Day.)

Voting Period

  • First possible day to vote (advance / alternative voting): September 26, 2026

  • Voting period ends: October 26, 2026

Exact voting period dates and hours will be confirmed by the Clerk and posted closer to the election.

Election Day

  • Election Day: Monday, October 26, 2026
    (Fourth Monday in October)
